His House | Celebrating Fifty Years

Jessy Stark

Shortly after I started my freshmen year at Central Michigan University, a friend of mine invited me to His House. What I didn’t know at the time was the joy and purpose that I was going to find, not only in friendships, but most importantly in a relationship with Jesus Christ. At the time, I was seeking satisfaction in all the wrong places, and my choices often left me searching for something more. It was through a simple invite (that I turned down many times) to come to a His House meeting that drew me into a closer relationship with the Lord. The first night I attended, I encountered the Lord in a very personal way. I am thankful for that friend that was able to see I was missing the thing in my life that I now treasure most. Because of their friendship, the course of my life was changed in incredible ways. I now get to be on campus everyday, sharing the gospel with students who don’t know Christ. I get to partake in authentic Christian community. And I get to watch the next generation of the Church live sold out lives for the Lord. In 15 years, the Lord has used me at 4 campuses, with countless friendships (and countless hairstyles). I’m thankful for each and every day that I get to serve with my His House family!
