His House | Celebrating Fifty Years

Allison Taylor

In the middle of my sophomore year, I was eating dinner in the McKenny dining room, checking out the little flyers in the middle of the tables for cool designs, and I saw an advertisement for His House. Now, I don’t remember if the design was good, but I do remember that I was very intrigued for some reason. At this point, I’d been looking for a Christian organization to be a part of ever since I entered college. I had no idea which one to join because it seemed that there were so many, and I didn’t know how to choose the “right” one. THIS is where God came in.

Thank God for bringing me to this wonderful place with all of these amazing individuals. It was here that I truly got to know God and embarked on a personal journey with Him by my side. I finally figured out what it really means to be held in the palm of His hand, guiding me in every decision I make. I have found that with God by my side I will never falter…I will never fail.

This blessed organization has meant more to me than you’ll ever know. It has shown me that God can be so much more than a holy being I see once a week. Because of His House, I now have a personal relationship with my Lord and Savior, and it is Him I turn to for everything. God is so amazing. He has given me such great opportunities through His House…the most cherished of which is to have met all of you. This community that has developed this past year with this group of people is ingrained in my heart. I want to thank all of you for being so supportive and for putting God at the center of your lives. I pray that each of you cherish your time here and use it to come closer to God, and more importantly, to bring others closer to God, because that’s what it’s all about. That’s why we are here: to be the hands, feet, and lips of Jesus.
